Week 2…
… it’s been busy. I haven’t blogged since Thursday. Friday was just my one lab section for my PSYC class, and it was the first class that I felt things were a bit over my head. It didn’t help that the world has now switched over to APA 7th Edition now that I’ve finally mastered the 6th. I had to finish a potential research assignment, and I realized how time consuming it can be. School is back in session tomorrow (today actually?) at 8 am, meaning I’m leaving the house at 6:30. I’ve got everything ready (i hope!) which includes my lab notebooks and more. And I also have my…

Settling in… (Day #2)
Thursdays are my most “standard” days of this semester. I have my 8:00 PSYC lecture (which I had on Tuesday) and my 9:30 Biology lecture (which I also had on Tuesday). Nothing incredibly new aside from, well, material that usually doesn’t get covered on the first day of class. Getting in was easy today — I even had time to stop for coffee! Didn’t get a parking ticket today either! (And I’m learning to remember my parking space number so I can find my car more easily. I’m probably the only person who specifically chooses a space based on the number; today I parked in #1313.) In PSYC we started…

Mastery…
All my homework for tomorrow is done. There were only assignments for one class — my PSYC class — which included (a) submitting a signed contract stating that I’ve read the syllabus and understand multiple components of it; (b) a completed online quiz demonstrating my understanding of the syllabus; and (c) “0.25 Mastery” of Chapter 3 in the text. “Mastery” is a term and technique used by Mind Tap, the platform set forth by “Cengage” which helps pace you with multiple choice questions about key concepts in the chapter. It brings up definitions initially and then quizzes you. Then brings up more concepts then quizzes you comprehensively. And while you…

The OFFICIAL Welcome… (Day 1)
It’s good to be back. Really. I mean, the parking ticket really isn’t all that great. But it was just a warning. So I suppose that’s good. Turns out that when I purchased my Lot 1 permit it had asked me for up to two vehicles to use with it. So I put both in. And apparently I didn’t indicate that of the two vehicles I submitted I wanted my parking permit to cover both. Such savagery… Anyhow — went to DOTS (Department of Transportation Services) — they took care of it. Both cars are now on the parking pass. Good. Hardly could sleep last night! Woke up, left the…

23 Hours and Counting…
It’s getting real. I’m getting excited. I’ve been nervous, and that hasn’t changed much. This morning I went to my weekly therapy session where we talked a bit about getting ready for everything. I mentioned this blog to my therapist. She was impressed that I would be so transparent and public about my new journey! Until I told her I’m not. If you’re reading these words, it’s because I’ve let you in. At this moment what’s going on is still under wraps. I’m telling more and more people (and feeling comfortable about it), but I’m not quite yet at the point where I can tell everyone. I haven’t started yet.…

T minus 2 days…
It’s Sunday evening. Tomorrow is my last day of the “old life” as it were. Therapy appointment in the morning, gym in the afternoon. Trash and recycling need to go out tomorrow evening. Then it’s all about getting everything ready for Tuesday morning. Making sure I have my clothes ready to go. That my two alarms are set so I can aim to leave the house at 6:30 am (!) Breakfast and lunch ready to go. Backpack packed. Hell, I might need to give myself a checklist so I’m not freaking out in the morning. The drive should take about 45-60 minutes from our home to College Park — going…
